Fast Ethernet Migration Schemes
When is the right time to start thinking about moving some, or all, of your network structure from 10Mb/s to 100Mb/s (or even 1000Mb/s)? What disasters will you encounter? Do you really need to do it?

ESL have been involved in Fast Ethernet since the very earliest days and have seen great strides in the availability and variety of equipment. We have worked with single, dual and triple speed systems both switched and repeated and have probably seen and overcome all the problems that there are.

ESL can :-

Determine which systems will benefit from Fast or Gigabit Ethernet and which can be left at normal Ethernet speeds.

Produce an implementation plan to move servers and users.

Check your existing Unshielded Twisted Pair cable structure for Category 5e compliance and change any legacy systems over to Cat5e UTP.

Supply and install legacy conversion equipment as well as standard UTP network structural equipment and interfaces.

Ensure that existing clients and servers can easily move to Fast Ethernet when required.

Advise on network structural changes to better cope with the new format.

most importantly, be with you when your conversion takes place.
